Back Home Again!
The past year has been many things. Wonderful things; bringing back our staff that we had to let go when we lost our funding, bringing in two new advocates, making new friends and reacquainting with old at the coalition, new partners in the community and so many other wonderful things have happened. There have also been a few trials; printer and computer problems, the air conditioning going out at the post office, staff out sick.
The year is almost over and we are happy to say that we will be moving back into our own facility. We are blessed to live in a community that works together to make things happen. Working with the post office was a wise choice. It was beneficial for the community, the post office and for us. The post office is now in their new home and we are getting ready to move back into ours.
We are grateful for Belfor construction; they are making our space look like an advocacy center instead of a bank. They have been a huge support for us and we hope to work with them in the future if we need any type of construction. They have done a fantastic job of getting it ready for us so we should be able to move back into the building by the end of September.
When our doors open, we will have a complete array of services once again, from crisis intervention, emergency shelter, food and gas, to support group, classes to drop restraining orders and one on one counseling services. And as always, our services are totally free and confidential. Our hours will remain 9am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday, and, 9am to noon on Fridays.
The Safe House Alliance will be hosting an open house on Thursday, October 16th from 5:30pm to 7pm. We’ll have finger foods for you. Please come down and have a tour of our new facility to see what the Alliance will be doing in your community.
Due to a delay in construction, our move-in date has been moved. Look for the new date on our Facebook page.
