October 15: The Laughing Bear Exhibit

Two local non-profits are working together to help survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Illinois Valley through an upcoming benefit. The "Illinois Valley Safe House Alliance" and the "Southern Oregon Guild" will hold its first ever "The Laughing Bear Exhibit," which will include wine and chocolate, on October 15th at the Kerby Belt Building from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The money raised by art sold will go to benefit survivors through the advocacy of IV Safe House Alliance. "The Laughing Bear Exhibit" is the product of Katherine Tilton's poem “The Laughing Bear”, which is a story based on losing personal power and the journey of recovery. Twenty-one artists from five countries collaborated to produce thirty prints based on their inspiration from the poem.

We will begin a weekly support group for women who wish to share experiences and learn from one another. This is for anyone who would like to heal past abuse or work on other issues of concern in their lives. To make an appointment for the group, please call 592.2515.
